FAQ - VIKING CAREERS

FAQ - VIKING CAREERS

The majority of our guests originate from the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand; therefore, all crew members are required to possess proficiency in verbal English to be able to work at Viking. Because the safety of guests and crew is the utmost priority when working on board a cruise ship, crew members must be able to receive and communicate clear instructions during an emergency, if needed. For all vessels dedicated to our Chinese guests proficient Mandarin skills are required. Speaking an additional language is appreciated; however, it is not required to be employed by Viking.

Crew members are generally assigned to a ship based on operational needs. Exceptions are possible but very uncommon. Due to the many exciting itineraries that our ships sail, we are certain you will be happy with the location of your assignment.
