BASEL OFFICE - Temporary Assistant Onboard Controlling

PURPOSE OF POSITION

 

The Assistant Onboard Controlling assists in and verifies all administrative work on the ship and in the Basel Operational Head Office. The Assistant Controlling Onboard visits ships on a quarterly basis to make audits and reports to the Manager Controlling Onboard.
This is a maternity cover with a limited contract until 31.12.2020.

This position is based in our Head Office in Basel, Switzerland. Thus, please note that we can only accept applicants who are eligible to work in Switzerland or in possession of a valid work permit.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Verify per ship and per cruise correctness and completeness of the following:
    • Revenue report
    • Settlement methods
    • Cash, Credit Card and SBC
    • Checking bookings/invoices in D 365
    • VAT handling for onboard invoices
    • Clarifying inconsistencies D 365
  • Check inventory per month
  • Create statistical reports
  • Data archiving
  • Pass on data for bookkeeping
  • Support of all administrative work on the ship
  • Support and check all accounting issues incl. monthly closings on the ships
  • Handle credit card inquiries
  • Coordinate of Debit Card funds assigned to the ships
  • Customer Relation request
  • Ship visit for quarter audits
  • Season start set up of the vessel and train the crew and Hotel Manager
  • Season end closing of the ships (travel required)

 

 

QUALIFICATION PROFILE

 

  • Education and/or experience in hotel business is preferred
  • Previous experience with basic accounting and administrative tasks is a plus
  • Good computer skills, especially MS Office
  • Knowledge of Hotel Front Office systems, accounting system Navision/ D365 as well as MXP would be an asset
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized and accurate
