BASEL OFFICE - Leadership Development Senior Manager

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Leadership Development Senior Manager is responsible for the design, development, and execution of Leadership Development across the Viking organization. Initially, the focus will be on building, in close cooperation with Leadership Teams, a new Viking Development Discussions model for overall performance improvement. This will include the training of Managers for this role. The position also covers Leadership Development programmes, which need to partly be newly designed and delivered, together with the design and development of various talent programmes. You will be reporting to the Director of Learning & Development and interact closely with the business leaders and HR Managers to support our business development objectives. This role is based in our Head Office in Basel, Switzerland, and involves up to 20% of travel worldwide.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, create and deliver a new employee development program via coaching orientated discussions with Managers
  • Act as a subject matter expert to design, develop and execute leadership development programmes across the group
  • Drive succession planning, talent review, and future skills development
  • Align with our HR Business Partners to analyze, design and implement the right trainings and development measures to ensure we have sufficient people management skills, in the right places and at the right time
  • Enable learning communities to thrive for learning and social collaboration at grand scale, in cooperation with internal partners or by yourself
  • Facilitate, assess and train for selected people topics (e.g. conduct leadership development workshops)
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and assistance to other HR team members to help them develop their capabilities
  • Drive, design and develop digital and new ways for self-directed learning
  • Train and support other L&D roles to ensure seamless execution, administration, and reporting

 

QUALIFICATION PROFILE

  • Several years of learning & development experience with a specialization in leadership development are required, and preferably in an international environment
  • University degree in Business, Psychology, Human Resources, Learning & Development or related field
  • Fluent written and spoken English, with other language abilities being an asset
  • Strong business acumen, exceptional work ethic and customer orientation
  • Solid proactive and precise communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent planning, project management, and organizational abilities
  • Flexibility and willingness for co-operation and teamwork
  • Reliable and stress-resistant
  • Previous experience in the field of Hospitality or Cruise Industry is an asset, but not required
  • Own relevant leadership experience (i.e. leading a team) is an asset
