BASEL OFFICE - Senior Network Engineer

The Global IT Infrastructure team plays an integral role in the strategy, architecture, design/acquisition, implementation, and management of the entire IT infrastructure operating Azure cloud infrastructure for the Offices and classic on-prem Infrastructure onboard our ships.
The Engineer coordinates and supervises all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of our ships and office networks, including different communications technologies like Starlink, VSAT and 4/5G. The Engineer will develop a roadmap and time-integrated plans for delivery, piloting solutions, and providing leadership for the design and commissioning of all onboard systems during the planning and launch of new vessels.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
- As a key member of the global IT Infrastructure team, the Senior Network Engineer will play a critical role in improving our onboard Networks and Communications platforms across all products
- The role will report to the VP Global IT Infrastructure
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will be designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure, including Palo Alto firewalls, next-generation firewalls, and other security products.
- You will take care of the end-to-end communications design and development incorporating RF systems, IP networks, OSS/BSS, and development
- You will be in charge of the Continuous Service improvement and service delivery documentation
- You will oversee and lead our Network Service Providers and provide guidelines for troubleshooting and resolving network issues to ensure the stable and efficient operation of the network
- You will monitor KPIs and continuously optimize our traffic shaping patterns
- You will be collaborating with other teams and departments to ensure that the network meets business needs and complies with industry standards
- You will be monitoring network performance and optimizing network configurations to improve performance and guests’ satisfaction
- You will be keeping abreast of new technologies and trends in network engineering and identifying opportunities for the organization to improve its network capabilities
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Several years of experience working with Palo Alto Networks products
- You are familiar with Panorama and you bring experience implementing templates and template stacks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical information
- Advanced Network analysis and robust troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with various satellite communication systems
- CCIE / PCNSE or similar certification
EDUCATION
- You have a Bachelor’s in Information Technology or equivalent

- You are a problem solver as well as innovator, who looks for ideas and innovative solutions through analytics and automation
- You are able to work independently and in a team environment, and you are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Maritime or Aerospace industry experience would be a plus
